Did not realize I needed a different sized top hose with this radiator. You think I can stretch/reshape it with a lighter as a VERY temporary fix? Or is that as dumb as it sounds?
If I had done the coolant reroute at the same time it would have been fine, I have the hoses for that. But I was going to save that for another free day and just throw in the radiator and overflow tank today. Last resort is get a tow back home (I'm at an empty business park) but I reaaaaally don't want to do that

As long as it’s temporary, you might be alright. Depends on how much you have to stretch it. You don’t want the hose to fail catastrophically and the engine overheat.

Go for the stretch and pray. If it breaks you will just have to shut it down and tow from there.

Temporary as in get you back home? Sure.

Trying something different. Wish me luck

From here,
that hose doesn’t look long enough to even bother trying to
reshape.

I found somethibg that could get me the extra two inches I need. Thank God it was in the car. Best part, if this doesn’t work, at least I’ll have a coolant temp reading for the drive home.

It's not. I pulled it a half inch out from the engine which MIGHT have been enough with reshaping. But probably not

Find aluminum tubing in roughly the same size and extend that hose out, looks like added length is your jam. Find a speed shop with a bead roller and you're golden.

I came up with a solution. Not pretty, or probably very durable... But I made it home leak freak, with the engine running cooler than it likely ever has before.
Quick question, is there a good reason to switch from these hoses to aluminum hard lines? I saw a vendor start offering them recently and it piqued my curiosity

Looks like you got it - nice work.
Also I believe we have the same ramps.

That'll do!

I love those ramps. Purchased because I forgot my jack one time and was too lazy to return home. Now I avoid using the jack whenever possible

I often use them as more of a stand; it’s sometimes easier to jack up the car and set it down on the ramps than get out jack stands (unless I’m working on the suspension/brakes/etc). It’s great how the nest together to save a lot of space.
In any case, they’re very good. 235 wide tires are about the limit though. I haven’t tried anything wider but based on the 235s I’ve had on it, anything wider will be overhanging the edges which seems s
ketchy to me

You mean... h ard tubing to replace the upper radiator hose? Pretty sure you need some flex between th e e ngine and radiator there . You don’t have solid engine mounts, do you?
